GD-8019A Existent Gum Tester is designed with unique air compressor and flowmeter to meet industrial requirements. This instrument is designed and made as per ASTM D381 Standard test method for gum content in fuels by jet evaporation.

>>>> Equipping with an air compressor, Gasoline Existent Gum Tester can also be used to determine the existent gum content of aviation gasolines and motor gasolines by air vaporizing medium.

Main Technical Features

Feature:
1. Gasoline Existent Gum Tester equips a specially designed heating bath. The gas circuit is designed reasonably and the effect of evaporation is good.
2. The material of working bench is stainless steel. It has 3 sample wells. A pressure gauge shows the flow rate when steam vaporizing medium is used. A ball float type flowmeter shows the flow rate when air vaporizing medium is used. It can determine 5 samples at a time.
3. Gasoline Existent Gum Tester is desktop structure. Simple design and easy to operate

Simple and convenient operation:
1. The multi-function head was designed for the safe and simultaneous positioning of all 5 pre-adjusted jet tubes. No manual handling and assembling of the hot conical jet tubes is required. After one turn only, all tubes are in their resting, pre-heating or working position. The position of the handle assures that neither steam nor hot air is hazardous to the operator.
2. Safe withdrawal of condensed water from sample beakers and the compensation of uncontrolled steam eruptions is assured by an efficient draining system.
3. Over-temperature protection cut-off.
4. Customized User Flexibility
Two different versions of Gum content testers are available:
- GD-8019A A model for tests with air supply
- GD-8019B A model with air and steam supply

Product Parameters

9. Working pressure of air decompression valve: 0.07 MPa;
10. Flow rate at nozzle outlet: 600 ml/s for each hole;

Working principle

Operation methods:
1. Turn on the decompression valve, and rotate it to the middle position.
2. Turn on the knobs of five flow meters and let them stay at the middle position.
3. Turn on the air compressor, and check and adjust air output pressure. Adjust the air decompression valve to let the value shown on the air pressure meter stay at about 0.07 MPa. Then press down the knob of decompression valve to lock the pressure.
4. Rotate knobs of five flow meters slowly until their float balls are all at about 600 ml/s (36 L/min). Then turn down the output valve of air compressor until these float balls fall down to the position a little higher than scale line of 0. If these balls are lower than scale line of 0, these float balls may jumps ups and downs when you turn on output valve next time and they will not rise up stably.
5. Put 5 test cylinders of φ51 mm×70 mm with sample into test holes of evaporation bath and put five trumpet type nozzles at three air outlets of evaporation bath.
6. Insert a thermometer of -5~400 ºC into the temperature measurement hole in the middle of evaporation bath.
7. Let the instrument get power and preset the controlling temperature to 162 ºC to heat the evaporation bath automatically to the preset temperature. Observe the reading of thermometer in the middle of evaporation bath to ascertain whether the temperature is in the range of 160~165 ºC.
8. Install the thermometer holders on the instrument and insert 5 thermometers of -5 ºC~400 ºC into the bottom of 5 beakers used for test through thermometer holders . Turn on the knobs of flow meters until the values shown by float balls slowly increase to about 600 ml/s (36 L/min). When the temperature measured at the bottom of 5 beakers is in the range of 150~160 ºC, you can remove these 5 thermometers. Then you can make existent gum test by evaporation methods. If the temperature measured at the bottom of 5 beakers is out of the range of 150~160 ºC, please properly increase or decrease the preset temperature. But you should ensure the temperature in the evaporation bath is in the range of 160~165 ºC.
