Full Automatic Micro Saturated Vapor Pressure Tester by ASTM D5191
ASTM D5191 Standard Test Method |
The ASTM D5191 test method measures the total vapor pressure of petroleum products. It is based on a known volume of chilled, air-saturated sample that is introduced into a thermostatically controlled, evacuated test chamber.
1. Vapor pressure is a very important physical property of volatile liquids.
2. Specifications for volatile petroleum products generally include vapor pressure limits to ensure products of suitable volatility performance.
3. The ASTM D5191 method is more precise than Test Method D4953, uses a small sample size (1 mL to 10 mL), and requires about 7 min to complete the test.
1. Comply with SH/T 0794 and ASTM D5191 Petroleum Products Vapor Pressure Determination (Micro Method)
2. Determination of vapor pressure of petroleum products (micro method)
3. Accurate and sensitive automatic saturated vapor pressure measurement
4. Fully automated process for easy operation
5. 3 ml sample amount, reduce the sample amount
6. Test results in 3~8 minutes, saving time.

The main standard methods for vapor pressure determination are the tertiary expansion method, the micro method, and the Reid method.
Petroleum products as well as chemical reagents can be tested for vapor pressure by the tertiary expansion method. The method refers to standards such as SH/T 0769, SN/T 2932 and ASTM D6378 (this standard applies to the determination of temperature 0 ºC ~ 100 ºC, the gas-liquid ratio of 4:1 ~ 0.02:1, the vapor pressure is not higher than 500kPa volatile liquid chemicals vapor pressure determination).
The vapor pressure of petroleum products can also be measured by the trace method. The method refers to ASTM D5191 and SH/T 0794 (this standard applies to the boiling point higher than 0 ºC, and in 37.8 ºC, gas-liquid ratio of 4:1 conditions under the vapor pressure of 7kPa ~ 130kPa of liquid petroleum products, and the sample size required in 1ml ~ 10ml)
The Reid method is also often used for the testing of vapor pressure of petroleum products. The method refers to GB/T 8017, ASTM D323 and other standards.
