A semi-automatic flash point tester is an instrument that requires manual intervention in some operations during the flash point testing process, combined with automatic control functions, to determine the lowest temperature at which a liquid can be ignited when its vapor is mixed with air under specific conditions
Our pensky-martens closed cup flash point tester is designed and manufactured as per standards GB/T 261-2008 Determination of Flash Point - Pensky-Martens closed cup method and ASTM D93 Standard Test Methods for Flash Point by Pensky-Martens Closed Cup Tester. It is used to make determination of the closed cup flash point of the petroleum products.
The sample temperature is gradually increased through a heating system. When it reaches or approaches the flash point temperature, an ignition device is used to generate a fire source, causing the sample vapor to burn. At the same time, the detection system monitors whether a flame is generated. Once a flame is detected, the corresponding temperature is the flash point.
