GDYJ-501 breakdown voltage tester is a device specially used to test the withstand voltage of electrical insulating media such as insulating materials, oil, transformer oil, capacitor oil, etc. By gradually increasing the voltage applied to the sample to be tested, it simulates a high-voltage environment to see whether the insulating material or insulating oil can withstand the voltage without being broken down under the high-voltage environment. The Transformer Oil Dielectric Strength Tester works based on the principle of measuring the dielectric strength of transformer oil. The test is performed by applying an AC voltage to a sample of the oil held between two electrodes with a specific gap, and gradually increasing the voltage until a breakdown occurs.
During the test, the instrument measures the voltage at which electrical current flows through the sample and causes a breakdown or flashover between the electrodes. This voltage is the Withstand Voltage, also known as Breakdown Voltage (BDV) of the oil. The test is repeated multiple times to obtain reliable and accurate results.
