Product Description

>>> The Kinematic viscosity is of primary importance in the design and selection of a wide range of petroleum products. Calibrated capillary viscometers are used to measure flow under gravity or vacuum at precisely controlled temperatures.

>>> Kinematic Viscosity Test Instrument is designed as per ASTM D 445 to determine kinematic viscosity of liquid petroleum products including transparent and opaque liquid, by time measurement for a volume of liquid to flow under gravity through a calibrated glass capillary viscometer.

>>> ASTM D445 describes the standard test method to measure the kinematic viscosity ν (ny) of petroleum products according to ASTM International (formerly "American Society for Testing and Materials", since 2001 "ASTM International").

Working condition of Kinematic Viscosity Bath
1. The instrument should be placed on a flat and stable workbench.
2. It is used for Newton liquids determination. The viscosity of Newton liquid is independent to the shear and shear rate.
3. For different temperature measurement ranges, please use different medium in the constant temperature bath.
4. When you make measurement for sample, please select a proper capillary viscometer according to the test temperature so that the flow time of sample in the capillary viscometer should not be less than 200 s (The flow time of sample in the capillary viscometer of 0.4 mm in diameter should not be less than 350 s).

2. The Ubbelohde viscometer and other suspended level viscometers are used to measure transparent liquids. Unlike the Cannon®-Fenske Routine viscometer, suspended level viscometers maintain the same viscometer constant at all temperatures, advantageous when samples are to be measured at different temperatures.
3. Cannon-Fenske Opaque, Cross Arm, and BS/IP/RF U-Tube viscometers have been designed for testing opaque liquids. These viscometers wet the timing section of the viscometer capillary only during the actual measurement and must be cleaned, dried and refilled before a repeat measurement can be made.
