GDYJ-501 breakdown voltage tester is a device used to measure the voltage value of insulating materials or liquids when they break down under high voltage. Routine tests of transformer oil include breakdown voltage measurement, dielectric loss factor measurement, water content, gas content determination and dissolved gas gas chromatography analysis. The breakdown voltage test is to verify the maximum voltage capacity that transformer oil can withstand, that is, its dielectric strength.

Why do we need transformer oil testing?
1. Breakdown voltage (BDV) test: Evaluates the insulation strength of insulating oil. Generally requires> 30KV, otherwise the oil needs to be replaced or treated.
2.Flash point test: Evaluates the fire resistance of the oil. It must be higher than the highest operating temperature of the insulating oil to qualify, usually> 135°C.
3.Conductivity test: Evaluates the impurity concentration in the insulating oil. Excessively high conductivity will accelerate oil aging and insulation degradation.
4.Pressure Volume Temperature Index (PVT) test: Comprehensively evaluates the insulation performance of insulating oil and is used to determine the degree of oil quality change.
5.Moisture test: Evaluates the water content in the insulating oil. Too much moisture accelerates aging and insulation degradation of the insulating oil.
6.Acid value test: Evaluates the chemical stability of the insulating oil. An increasing acid value indicates that chemical changes have occurred in the oil.
7.Odor test: Detects changes in the odor of insulating oil through human olfaction to determine the degree of oil quality change.
8. Color test: Uses a colorimeter to detect the depth of darkening of the insulating oil color and indirectly determine the degree of oil quality change.
