1. DC Voltage Drop Method: This method involves measuring the voltage drop across the contacts while a known current is passed through them. The contact resistance is then calculated using Ohm's Law.
2. Bridge Method: In this method, a Wheatstone bridge circuit is used to measure the resistance of the contacts. The bridge is balanced by adjusting a variable resistor until the null point is reached, and the contact resistance is calculated from the known resistances in the circuit.
3. AC Impedance Method: This method involves applying an AC voltage to the contacts and measuring the resulting current. The contact resistance is then calculated using the impedance formula Z=R+jX, where R is the resistance and X is the reactance.
4. Current Injection Method: In this method, a high current is injected into the contacts and the voltage drop across them is measured. The contact resistance is then calculated using Ohm's Law.
