BS6387 Cable Fire Resistance, Impact Test and Spray Test Equipment
Introduction:
Wire and cable fire resistance, impact test and spray test equipment is designed and manufactured in accordance with the latest BS6387-2013 standard requirements. This equipment saves customers the cost of multiple electrical control boxes to the greatest extent. It can be tested on the basis of one electrical control box. Three tests.
The system uses a touch screen microcomputer control system. Various experiments can be freely selected on the screen.
Hammering or spraying test bench can also realize automatic ignition or manual auxiliary ignition. The flame temperature can reach above 950 degrees.

Main Features:
Combustion Test Device:
- The burner is a belt propane gas burner with a Venturi mixer.
- Three rows of combustion holes are arranged staggered, the width of the front end of the burner: 15mm; the hole diameter: 1.32mm, the hole centre distance: 3.2mm.
- A row of guide holes is set on both sides of the nozzle plate to keep the flame burning.
- Imported with dual flow meters and pressure adjustment.
- Airflow rate (80±5) L/min; Propane flow rate (5±0.25) L/min.
- With temperature measuring device diameter 2mm; (K-type thermocouple).
- A clamp is installed at one end of the sample holder to fix the sample, and the other end is convenient for heat transfer along the longitudinal direction of the sample.
- The cable sample is supported by two metal rings, the middle length is about 300mm.
- The inner diameter of the sample supporting metal ring is 150mm, and the cross-section diameter of the ring is 10±2mm.
- The position of the burner torch is no less than 200mm from the bottom of the combustion box and no less than 300mm from the wall of the box.
- The horizontal axis of the burner torch is 70±10mm from the lower end of the cable sample, and the longitudinal axis of the torch is about 45mm from the vertical axis of the cable.
- Two 1.5mm diameter thermocouples (A, B) are installed horizontally on the left and right sides 45mm away from the centerline of the burner. Check that the flame temperature is within 750+50ºC; according to the BS6387 standard, the temperature can reach 950ºC.
- With intelligent detection function, when the sample is short-circuited during the test, it will automatically alarm and turn off the fire source.
- PLC and touch screen intelligent control, and automatically record and store test data.
- The fuse current in the sample circuit is 2A.
- The sample power supply AV 100V~1000V is adjustable.
- The fire supply time can be set freely, the standard recommended time is 90min.
- Equipped with three blowtorches:
Blowtorch for fire-resistant: Nozzle: length 610mm±10mm, width 10mm; burning direction is vertical upward burning; distance between sample and torch is 75mm.
Blowtorch for fire-resistant hammering: Nozzle: length 500mm±10mm, width 10mm, burning direction is horizontal upward burning.
Blowtorch for fire-resistant spray: Nozzle: length 500mm±10mm, width 10mm, burning direction is horizontal upward burning.
Impact Test Device:
- The stainless steel bracket impact structure; the box body is painted;
- Independent motor hits the control box;
- A thick round steel bar with a hammering cone of ¢25 and a length of 600.
- The hammer cone is hammered in a free fall with an included angle of 60°.
- The motor-driven rod hammer performs periodic hammering and impact action.
- Hammering cycle (time): 10~999S (can be set, the standard requires 30±2S/time)
- Total test time: 0~9999S
- Test temperature 600~1000° (A grade 650°, B grade 750°, C, D grade 950°)
- The diameter of the temperature measuring thermocouple is less than ¢2mm;
- During the test, each phase cable carries 0.25A current.
- Equipped with "Z" type sample installation tooling and refractory plate;
Spray Test Device:
- Independent spray system control box;
- Stainless steel water pipeline and stainless steel tank; the tank has Testaike's proprietary design technology, and fully considers the special working conditions of spraying to avoid leakage of the tank due to contact with water;
- The cabinet door can be moved up and down to facilitate installation of samples and test preparation; after the door is closed, when the test is started, the design of the door can avoid sprinkling water overflow, and ensure that all water flows into the tank inside the tank.
- Use propane or natural gas burners, and use integral strip burners with a length of 500mm. (Shared with fire-resistant combustion test bench);
- The combustion test temperature is 650±40°;

- Water suction filter;
- Use thermocouples with a diameter not greater than ¢2 to measure temperature;
- The water supply pressure of the sprinkler head is 250~350Kpa, and the water spray amount to the sample is about 0.25~0.3L/S.m2;
- The test length of the sample is about 400mm;
- During the test, the test cable is energized through the isolation transformer and connected to the 3A fuse or circuit breaker, and there are on-off signal lights for each phase cable.
