• Cold Cranking Simulator Engine Oil Apparent Viscosity Tester ASTM D2602 is mainly used to test the low temperature dynamic viscosity of engine oil.
• Automatic Cold Cranking Simulator Engine Oil Apparent Viscosity Tester is controlled by computer automatically. Automatic injection, cleaning, calculation of viscosity results. 
• The Cold Cranking Simulator CCS is used to measure the apparent viscosity of oils at temperatures from -35°C to -5°C. The CCS is designed to simulate the oil viscosity under cold starting (cranking) conditions.

 

Principle

• Apparent viscosity refers to the measure of a fluid's resistance to flow under applied stress or shear. It is commonly used to describe the behavior of non-Newtonian fluids, which do not exhibit a constant viscosity regardless of the applied stress.
• In non-Newtonian fluids, such as certain types of suspensions, emulsions, and polymer solutions, the apparent viscosity can vary depending on the shear rate or shear stress. The apparent viscosity is determined experimentally by measuring the velocity gradient and the shear stress in the fluid.
