ASTM D942 Automatic Grease Oxidation Stability Tester 
Oxidize the specimen in a conditioned oxygen bomb. The pressure is observed and recorded at specified time intervals. After a specified time period, the degree of oxidation of the grease is determined by the corresponding decrease in oxygen pressure.
The antomatic grease oxidation stability tester is suitable for determining the oxidation resistance of grease in a static storage in an oxygen-tight system at elevated test temperatures.

Why perform the grease oxidation stability test?

(1) Monitor changes in the oxidative stability of the lubircating grease to prevent more organic acids from being generated as a result of oxidative deterioration of the lubricant, causing corrosion of the lubricated parts of the equipment.
(2) Prevent more sludge, gum and asphaltene produced by the serious oxidation of lubricating oil, increasing the viscosity of lubricating oil, which is not conducive to the lubrication and heat dissipation of the equipment. Also prevents the flow of lubricating oil due to excessive oil sludge blocking the oil circuit and affecting the flow of lubricating oil, increasing the wear and tear of the equipment.
(3) oxidative deterioration of lubricating grease will also make the oil additives cracking failure, so that the oil of the relevant physical and chemical properties of deterioration, such as oil foam, emulsification, anti-wear properties will be significantly reduced.
(4)The oxidative stability of lubricating grease depends most of all on the quality of the base oil.

Operation method:

Place the sample in the qualified oxygen bomb for oxidation. Observe and record the pressure at specified time intervals. After a specified time period, the oxidation degree of lubricating grease is determined by the corresponding reduction of oxygen pressure. The Oxidation Resistance of Greases Tester is suitable for measuring the oxidation resistance of lubricating grease stored in oxygen closed system under the condition of increasing the test temperature.
