Automatic Penetrometer for Consistency Test ASTM D5

This Penetrometer is mainly suitable for measuring the penetration of road petroleum asphalt, modified asphalt, and the penetration of residual liquid petroleum asphalt or emulsified asphalt after evaporation, and automatically calculating and generating a nomogram of the asphalt penetration relationship. The standard test conditions are as follows:
The asphalt sample is placed in a constant temperature bath at 25 ºC± 0.1 ºC, and a standard needle with a load of 100 grams ± 0.05 grams is vertically moved without obvious friction. The depth of penetration into the asphalt sample within 5 seconds is called the asphalt penetration degree, which is used to identify the viscosity of the asphalt. The greater the penetration of asphalt, the lower the viscosity of asphalt, and the softer the asphalt.
 

This Automatic  Penetrometer can also be used for the inspection of solid particles, powders, colloids, frozen bodies and other materials, as well as food raw materials such as cheese, sugar gum, butter, malt extract, cream, fermented bodies, etc. It can be widely used in the food industry, transportation and highway engineering, and other industrial sectors.



The Automatic ASTM D5 Penetrometer is designed and made as per the standards GB/T4509 Standard Test Method for Penetration of Bitumen, T0604 Bitumen Penetration Test in the standard JTG E20-2011 Specifications and Test Methods of Bitumen and Bituminous Mixtures for Highway Engineering and ASTM D5.
The Automatic ASTM D5 Penetrometer is suitable to determine the penetration of highway bitumen, modified asphalt, as well as liquid petroleum asphalt or residue of emulsified asphalt after evaporation.
