The Marshall stability test is based on static loading tests on cylindrical asphalt mixture specimens. Make standard sized cylindrical specimens (diameter 101.6mm ± 0.2mm, height 63.5mm ± 1.3mm) of asphalt mixture according to the prescribed method, and place the specimens between the upper and lower pressure heads of the Marshall tester. Apply vertical pressure to the specimen at a certain loading rate (usually 50mm/min ± 5mm/min) through hydraulic or mechanical devices until the specimen is destroyed. During the loading process, the instrument automatically records the maximum load applied (i.e. Marshall stability, in kN) and the vertical deformation of the specimen at failure (i.e. flow value, in 0.1mm). The Marshall modulus is calculated by the ratio of stability to flow value, and is used to comprehensively evaluate the deformation resistance of asphalt mixtures.
1. The marshall stability tester has functions of parameters setting, measurement calibration, automatic test control, automatic data collection and timer. The control unit will collect the stability and flow value for sample and judge the peak value automatically.
2. LCD display shows the stability, flow value, curves, result and time. The test effect is intuitive .
3. 100 groups of test data and test time can be stored in the instrument and callout whenever needed. All procedures will be controlled automatically.
4. RS232 communication port. Realize the communication with upper computer. The data process, store, print and display can be controlled by a PC. Also the test procedures can be controlled by a PC.
5. This instrument also has functions for manual lifting, lowering and stopping. Convenient to use.
