The flame spread index tester is developed according to the test method of BS 476-6. Many building materials or building products in the UK and Hong Kong must pass the BS 476-6 flame spread index test.
This method is suitable for indoor wall materials, insulation materials, ceiling materials, etc. For example, fiberglass panels, LED display screens, etc., to measure their flame spread index.
During the test, the flame spread index size is used to provide a measurement of the flame generation of flat materials to evaluate the fire resistance of products such as walls and ceilings. The flame spread index i (i1, i2, i3) of the three time periods [(0-3)min, (4-10)min, (11-20)min] is calculated respectively. The total flame spread index I is the sum of the three flame spread indices (I=i1+i2+i3).
