Auto Ring and Ball Apparatus Softening Point Tester for Bituminous Material Sample

The asphalt softening point tester is a specialized instrument used to determine the softening point of asphalt.
Its working principle is based on the state changes of asphalt during the heating process. We put the asphalt sample in a designated container and slowly heat it up. As the temperature continues to rise, asphalt will gradually soften from its solid state, just like ice slowly melting in the sun. When asphalt reaches a certain degree of softness, it will flow under specific conditions, and the temperature at this time is the softening point of asphalt.

Features

1. The water bath experiment at 20 ~ 90ºC can be selected, and the glycerin experiment at 70 ~ + 160 ºC can also be performed.
2. The ring and ball apparatus adopts microcomputer control, automatic stirring, linear heating, and the standard requirement of maintaining a heating rate of 5 ºC / min.
3. Automatic detection, automatically display and print the test results after the experiment.
4. The beaker is made of high temperature resistant glass, and the specifications of the steel ball positioning ring and steel ball meet the standard requirements.
5. Small desktop structure, the control system and the heating system are separated (one left and one right), avoiding the failure of the high temperature test of the heating system to the electronic components.
6. The designed high-reliability softening point detection device was awarded the national patent, the patent number is ZL201821603408.8

Operation methods

The sample softening point is below 80ºC
(1) Open the power switch and await for 10 minutes, after the touch screen display is stable, click the "parameter set" on the bottom of the interface, and then select "water" button, finally click the "exit" button on the right side of the interface. And then shut down the stirring function in anticlockwise through the stirrer adjustment.
(2) Clean up the test cup without the impurity and glass is transparent.
(3) Pour distilled water or purified water into the test glass to the marking line, put the heating device into the test glass and place the test glass in a constant temperature water bath containing (5±0.5) ºC water (pay attention to avoid the liquid in the water bath from entering the test glass).
(4) When the water temperature in the test glass meets the test conditions (measured with a glass thermometer), take out the test glass and the heating device from the water bath, quickly clean the water droplets attached to the outer ring and bottom of the test glass, place the test glass in the test area of the instrument (in the black fixing ring), place the heating device stably, and fix its two ends on the test column; Place the magnetic stirrer in the center of the bottom of the test glass.
(5) Slowly rotate the stirring adjustment knob clockwise to make the magnetic stirrer start to rotate smoothly.
(6) Take out the sample ring containing the sample from the constant temperature water bath, place it in the circular hole of the middle layer plate of the test support, put on the positioning ring, and put the steel ball in the center of the sample in the middle of the positioning ring; then put the whole test support into the test glass and keep the water temperature at (5±0.5)ºC. No bubbles shall be attached to any part of the ring frame. Insert the temperature sensor vertically from the central hole of the upper plate of the test support; check and confirm that the temperature sensor and heating device have been firmly connected with the corresponding interface of the instrument (if necessary, transfer the test process data to the upper computer program, and connect the instrument and computer with serial port line).
