Working Principle

 

• Explain that vacuum can be measured by relating pressure to temperature of a gas under reduced pressure in an enclosed chamber
• Ideal gas law - Pressure x Volume = Amount x Ideal gas constant x Temperature
• Under low pressure, the temperature drops predictably. By measuring this temperature drop, vacuum pressure can be inferred.
