ASTM D5453 TS Total Sulfur Content Analyzer for Engine Fuels and Engine Oil 


Test Significance:
The Total Sulfur Content in automotive fuels is a key parameter when undertaking process or quality control analyses and for ensuring compositional specifications in finished refinery products are met.
Sulfur components in process feeds may damage the catalyst performance in refinery processes, so lowering the refinery efficiency and profitability. Additionally, the Total Sulfur content in products like automotive fuels is subjected to restrictions by regional and international regulations, such as the Tier 3 program, and must therefore be monitored using reliable methods and instrumentation. The ASTM D5453 method specifically for the petroleum industry, covering the determination of the total sulfur content in liquid petroleum products by Ultraviolet Fluorescence.
