Product Overview-what is transformer oil bdv tester
Transformer oil BDV tester is a device used to measure the breakdown voltage of transformer insulating oils. The breakdown voltage is a crucial parameter for ensuring the quality of transformer oil, as it indicates the ability of the oil to withstand high voltage electric fields without breaking down. The BDV tester applies a voltage across two electrodes immersed in the oil, and then measures the voltage at which the oil breaks down. By comparing this value with the standard value for the oil being tested, it is possible to determine if the oil is suitable for use in a transformer. Transformer oil BDV tester is an important tool in the maintenance and testing of transformer equipment.
Working Principle
1. apply high voltage to the test oil sample and gradually increase the voltage until the oil sample breaks down and discharges. |
2. record the voltage value at the time of breakdown, which is the BDV value of the oil sample. |
3. according to the standard, judge whether the BDV value meets the requirements to evaluate the quality of the insulating oil. |
BDV value is too low indicates that the insulating oil has been seriously aged, the insulation strength is reduced, and it is not suitable for further use. More than the standard value indicates that the quality of insulating oil meets the requirements and can continue to be used. |
