What is the difference between Open Cup Flash Point Tester and Closed Cup Flash Point Tester?

The implementation standard of the open cup flash point tester is GB/T3536-2008, which is used to measure petroleum products other than fuel oil with an open cup flash point higher than 79 degrees.
The closed flash point implementation standard GB/T261-2008 is used to measure flammable liquids, liquids with suspended particles, and liquids whose surfaces tend to form a film under experimental conditions.
Generally speaking, the closed-mouth measurement measures light oil or oil used under sealed conditions, such as transformer oil. Opening measures heavy oils or oils used under open conditions, such as lubricants.
