Transformer Turns Ratio Instrument TTR Single Phase Inspection Tester
Introduction
The ratio tester is used to test the ratio, polarity and wiring group of various transformers. It can identify the correctness of the transformer winding turn ratio, the state of the tap switch, whether there is an internal turn-to-turn short circuit or inter-layer short circuit, so as to determine whether the transformer can operate or run in parallel. The ratio tester is a new generation of intelligent ratio test instrument, with intuitive display, good stability, high accuracy and wide measurement range.
Features
1. Automatically measure transformer connection group.
2. Automatically switch range.
3. Automatically measure ratio of single or three phase transformer.
4. Automatically measure ratio of single or three phase voltage transformer.
5. Automatically measure the turn ratio and polarity of single phase CT and VT.
6. Calculate ratio error automatically.
7. Overload and reverse connection detect unit would prevent tester damaged in wrong connection mode.
8. Setting data and the test results are saved automatically. The history data can be recall again.
9. Print test results by micro printer.

Turns Ratio between the Windings
The power transformer turns ratio test is an AC low voltage test conducted to determine the ratio between the high voltage winding and all other windings when the transformer is unloaded. This test is performed on every tap of each individual winding to ensure accurate measurement.
The Transformer Turns Ratio tester (TTR) is device used to measure the turns ratio between the windings (example shown below)
Connection Scheme
Voltage is applied on the H marked leads and measured of the X marked lead by the test set.
Ratio measurements are conducted on all tap positions and calculated by dividing the induced voltage reading into the applied voltage value. When ratio tests are being made on three-phase transformers, the ratio is taken on one phase at a time with a three-phase TTR until the ratio measurements of all three phases are completed.
Connect the H0, H1, H2, and H3 test cables to the corresponding high-voltage winding terminals of the transformer under test. With delta connected windings, H0 is not used.
Connect the X0, X1, X2, and X3 test cables to the corresponding low-voltage winding of the transformer under test. With delta connected windings, X0 is not used.
It is possible to test single phase two-winding transformers with a three-phase TTR test set by only utilizing the H1, H2 and X1, X2 leads.
