Product Description

>>> The instrument applies to the determination of the color of every type of lubricating oil and other petroleum according to ASTM D1500. During the usage of the measuring instrument, the sample of petroleum is injected to the colorimetric tube. Then the chromaticity and the color number are determined after the sample is compared with the standard color sheet.
>>> It is applicable to test color of various lubricants, kerosene, diesel, and other petroleum products.
>>> The instrument consists of standard color plate, optical lens, light source and colorimetric tube.
>>> The observation lens is composed of concave mirror and separated bar. You can see two semicircle colors through observation lens. The right semicircle is standard color. The light and focus of optical observation lens can be adjusted, so it is easy to be used.

Main Technical Features

1.The light source is a 220 V, 100 W, with temperature of 2750±50 K grinding milk white light bulb. After filtering color by milk white glass and sunshine filtering glass, the spectrum characteristics of light gained from sunshine is similar to it. The standard light will change into two parallel lights, which is similar in size, trough plane reflection mirror and prism. The parallel lights will irradiate on sample in the color comparing tube on the color glass of standard color dial evenly and respectively.

2.There are 26 pieces of Φ14 light holes. And standard color glasses having 1~25 color number are installed in the 25 of these holes in sequence. The 26 hole is blank. The color dial is rotated by a hand wheel installed at right side of instrument to choose the correct color during color comparing test. The standard color comparing glass on the color dial should be calibrated by standard color comparing liquids.

3.The color comparing tube is Φ32 mm, 120~130 mm high non-colorful flat bottom glass tube. The color comparing tube is placed into instrument trough a lid on the top of the instrument.

4.The observation lens is composed of concave mirror and separated bar. You can see two semicircle colors through observation lens. The right semicircle is standard color. The light and focus of optical observation lens can be adjusted, so it is easy to be used.

Preparatory Work:

1.  Liquid petroleum products such as lubricating oil, pour the sample into the sample container to a depth of more than 50 mm, and observe the color. If the sample is not clear, the sample can be heated to more than 6ºC above the turbidity point or until the turbidity disappears, and then the color is measured at the temperature. If the color of the sample is darker than standard No. 8, 15 samples (by volume) are mixed with 85 volumes of thinner and the color of the mixture is determined.

2. Petroleum waxes include soft waxes where the sample is heated to 11-17ºC above the wax melting point and its colour is determined at this temperature. If the color of the sample is darker than No.8, 15 parts of the molten sample (by volume) are mixed with 85 parts of the diluent at the same temperature, and the color of the mixture at this temperature is determined.
