Product Description

 

1.GDGY Insulating Oil Dielectric Loss Tan Delta Tester is a high-precision instrument, which can be applied to measure dielectric loss angle and Volume Resistivity of insulating oil etc.

2.It is integrated by oil cup for dielectric loss, temperature-control equipment, temperature sensor, test-bridge for dielectric loss, AC trial electrical source, standard capacitor, high resistance meter and DC high-voltage power etc. The most advanced heating mode of high frequency induction is applied to the heating part of this instrument, which has the advantage of non-contact of oil cup and heating unit, homogeneous heating, quick velocity and convenient control etc. 

3.AC-DC-AC conversion mode is applied to AC trial electrical source so that the problem how to measure correctly under the fluctuation of voltage and frequency can be avoided. 

4.Even when the electric generator is working, the instrument can operate correctly.

5.The inner standard capacitor is SF6 three-pole inflate capacitor, whose dielectric loss and capacitance is not influenced by environmental temperature and dampness etc. 

6.In this way, the accuracy of the instrument is guaranteed conformably after a long-time application.
 

What is the Tan Delta Test?

Tan delta testing measures the quality and breakdown potential of insulating oils used in electrical equipment like transformers. It works by applying AC voltage to an oil sample and comparing the phase shift between the voltage and current flow.

The test is typically done at two different temperatures. The change in tan delta readings across the temperatures indicates oil quality.Oils with smaller changes in tan delta across temperature have better quality.

If the tan delta values vary too much between temperatures or are outside acceptable ranges, it means the oil has deteriorated. The oil then needs to be replaced or reconditioned to ensure proper operation of the electrical equipment relying on the insulating qualities of the oil.

Periodic tan delta testing allows assessing insulating oil health and taking preventive steps before failure in electrical equipment. It provides simple pass/fail criteria to judge if oils meet specifications.
