Product Description

Our ASTM D1298 Density Meter is designed and made as per ASTM D1298 Standard Test Method for Density, Relative Density(Specific Gravity),or API Gravity of Crude Petroleum and Liquid Petroleum Products by Hydrometer Method.Density is an important indicator for automotive, aviation and marine fuels. It can affects storage, handling and combustion.It is used to determine the density of crude petroleum and liquid petroleum.

Significance and Use

1.Accurate determination of the density, relative density (specific gravity), or API gravity of petroleum and its products is necessary for the conversion of measured volumes to volumes or masses, or both, at the standard reference temperatures of 15°C or 60°F during custody transfer.
2.When used in connection with bulk oil measurements, volume correction errors are minimized by observing the hydrometer reading at a temperature close to that of the bulk oil temperature.
3. Density, relative density, or API gravity is a factor governing the quality and pricing of crude petroleum. However, this property of petroleum is an uncertain indication of its quality unless correlated with other properties.
4. Density is an important quality indicator for automotive, aviation and marine fuels, where it affects storage, handling and combustion.

 

Main Technical Features

1. This ASTM D1298 Density Meter is a kind of all-in-one machine. The control box adopts humanized design. The control switch adopts light-touch mode. Its structure is simple and compact. Easy to operate. 
2. It adopts intelligent LCD temperature controller. The control rate is fast and overstrike is small. The temperature control can reach ±0.2ºC.
3. It equips a hard glass vessel and electric stirrer. The temperature in vessel is uniform. Easy to observe the sample. 

Main Structure

1. Electrical heater
It is made of sealed stainless steel tube, providing heat for the constant temperature bath.
2. Motor-driving sitrring device
The motor stirring device. Input power: 25W, output power: 6w, rotation: 1200r/min, stirring balde:Ф50mm(Both the heating and stirring are proceeded in a protecting cover). It guarantee the constant temperature in the bath.
3. Temperature Controller
The LCD digital temperature controller.The sensor(Pt100)sends the signal to the temperature regulator. It automatically control the heating power of the electrical heater. 
4. Bathtub and bath cover
The bathtub is made of hard glass. There are tow holes for the density meauring flask and its holder on the bath cover. It enable to test two samples at the same time. There is a spare hole for the low temperature test.
5. Thermometer
Total immersion mercury thermometer with scale division of 0.2 ºC; The testing temperature range is -20~102ºC
