Product Description

Summary:
The hydrocarbon tester is designed and made as ASTM D 1319 Standard Test Method for Hydrocarbon Types in Liquid Petroleum Products by Fluorescent Indicator Adsorption. It is suitable to make the main hydrocarbon of liquid petroleum products shown on the silica gel adsorption column with fluorescent indicator. Then calculate it's volume percentage. This will be regarded as the quality measurement index of engine fuel, aviation fuel and other fuel oils. The instrument is a kind of professional instrument determining percentage of aromatic hydrocarbon, olefin and saturated hydrocarbon in petroleum fraction.

Significance and Use:
The determination of the total volume percent of saturates, olefins, and aromatics in petroleum fractions is important in characterizing the quality of petroleum fractions as gasoline blending components and as feeds to catalytic reforming processes. This information is also important in characterizing petroleum fractions and products from catalytic reforming and from thermal and catalytic cracking as blending components for motor and aviation fuels. This information is also important as a measure of the quality of fuels, such as specified in Specification D1655.

Main Structure

Adopting the integration of vertical structure in the design, no need for installation, it can be placed directly in appropriate location of laboratory. The instrument consist of the gas system, the vibration part, the ruler and the scale indication, lighting system, UV detection components, etc. Filling silica gel, vibration, loading sample and reading out the test results can be finished at one time.
(1) Gas system: consist of gas inlet, two pressure gauges, pressure regulator etc. An external compressed gas (air or nitrogen) is needed and transported to the top of adsorption column under 0kPa ~103kPa.
(2) UV source: the UV lamp, wavelength 365nm, length 1220mm, built in the front cover of the instrument. Turning on or off UV light source is controlled by the switch on the panel.
(3) Electric vibrators: two built-in electric vibrator, the amplitude ≥ 1.5mm, the frequency (100 ± 2) Hz, power supply 220V. Turning on or off electric vibrator is controlled by the switch on the panel.
(4) Adsorption column cleaning device: Tap water is no need. Movement of adsorption column is also no need. A vacuum pump is inside. Set all pipeline well. It will supply clean water by switching on " Water "and remove the waste liquid by switching on "Suction". The combination of these two functions will complete the cleaning. The water use for cleaning one piece of adsorption column is less than 100ml. It will dry the adsorption column for next test at the last.and so on...
