Tan Delta also known as Dielectric Loss or Loss Angle or Power Factor test method is used to test the insulating oil to know the quality level of the oil. This test method is carried out at two temperatures. The results obtained from both the tests are compared. If the test result is good, the oil continues to be used, if the test result is not as expected, the oil is replaced.
