Maintenance of Automatic Asphalt Softening Point Tester
1. It is forbidden to turn on the instrument without water or glycerin in the beaker. Otherwise it will burn down the heat device.
2. Pour corresponding liquid into the glass cylinder of constant temperature water bath until the liquid depth reaches to marking line as required.
3. In order to obtain accurate test results, the instrument should be used under the environmental conditions of (15 ~ 35)ºC and relatively stable without obvious air convection.
4. During the test of the instrument, the rotating speed of the stirrer should be adjusted to the appropriate position. When starting to heat, the speed of the stirrer can be faster. When the water temperature is close to the softening point (at this time, the tested asphalt sample begins to bulge downward), the speed of the stirrer should be adjusted to be very slow or even stop rotating, so as to ensure the accuracy of the test results.
5. After the test, clean the asphalt or resin wrapped on the positioner with kerosene or trichloroethylene. Do not pull the parts of the three pointers on the positioner with force, and ensure that the included angle of the three positioning needles is maintained at 120 °, and the positioning needles shall not be bent and on the same horizontal level; If not used for a long time, please apply anti rust oil.
6. After the test, clean the steel ball, keep it dry or store it in kerosene.
7. When the instrument leaves the factory, the temperature sensor and the main unit are one-to-one corresponding, which can not be mistaken, otherwise it will seriously affect the accuracy of the test results and even fail to work normally.
Note: When the room temperature is lower than 0 ºC, please exhaust water in the water bath to avoid any damage to the instrument caused by freezing.
