              IMO Flame Spread Apparatus, ISO5658-2 
 
Introduction:

The MO thermal radiation flame propagation tester is used for the combustion characteristics of building materials, high-speed train materials and ship materials. It measures the spread speed and ignition heat and total heat release of flames according to the distance and CEF (critical heat radiation flow).

This test method is used to evaluate the combustion characteristics of vertically mounted test objects according to ISO 5658-2 and IMO res.653.It also meets the GB/T 28752-2012 flame transverse spread test method on the vertical surface.The test object is exposed to the appropriate heat dissipation area given by the gas combustion type of the heat dissipation panel, and the calibrated thermocouple is used to measure its signal value in mV when the combustion occurs.In addition, the ignition time and flame burning time of the measured object are recorded according to the distance of the tested object, and the flame spreading speed is also recorded.Other test items include ignition heat (MJ/m2), heat from sustained combustion (MJ/m2), critical heat radiation flow (kW/m2), average heat from sustained combustion and total heat loss (kW).

Features:

1. The test instrument consists of four main components: one set of radiant plate supports and one set of sample supports. At the same time, they are connected together to make the test sample form the required structure together with radiant plate, sample rack and ignition burner.

2. The radiant plate is provided with a radiant surface of about 480 mm X 280 mm, and the front of the radiant surface is provided with a wire mesh screen to increase the radiation;

3. Adopt blower to provide radiant plate air source, and adopt frequency converter to adjust;

4. The propane mass flow controller is used to regulate the gas source, and the venturi mixer is used to mix with the air to provide the combustion gas source required by the radiant plate;

5. Provide porous calibration plate and sliding heat flow meter moving track to detect whether the heat radiation flux meets the standard requirements;

6. Water-cooled heat radiation flux sensor for measuring heat radiation flux curve of radiant plate;

7. Portable water cooling cycle device can take away the surface heat of the heat meter;

8. Ceramic tube burner, which can directly expose flame to test sample surface;

9. Rotor flowmeter is adopted to regulate the mixed combustion gas of ceramic tube burner;

10. Mass flow controller, which can easily measure the heat of methane by measuring the critical heat flux;

11. According to IMO test standards, thermocouple devices can be provided to measure heat release rate and other related parameters;

12. Methane calibration burner and methane mass flow controller can provide 1KW and 3KW flame temperature;

13. During the test, the camera can observe and save the measured state in the program;

14. Equipped with an Angle adjustable observation mirror, the flame spreading rate can be observed through the glass mirror and sample rake during the test, and can be automatically recorded by foot switch;

15. Computer and standard test software to control the test process.
