Product Description

Method summary
The samples are packed in bottles of refractory porous material and extracted with hot toluene until the residue reaches a certain weight. The residual amount is expressed as "extracted precipitate" in weight percent.

Working method
ASTM D473 Crude Oil Sediment Content Tester instrument consists of two parts: extractor and induction cooker
1)Heater: no open flame for heating, uniform heating and good temperature control performance
2)Condenser: a metal coil tube with a diameter of about 25mm and a length of about 50mm, welded on the cover, and 2 ends protruding from the cover.

Features:
1. It is suitable for the determination of total precipitates at 100°C in residual fuel oil with a viscosity less than 55 mm/s and in distillate fuel oil containing residual components.
2. The instrument consists of a metal constant temperature bath, an electronic control device, a heating filter device, a steam generator, a vacuum pump, a constant temperature magnetic stirrer, a filter plate and a filter membrane.
3. The aging bath is made of aluminum alloy with double heating holes and uniform heat conduction.
4. The filter device is made of brass, the steam and cooling water channels are evenly arranged, and the heating and cooling switching is convenient and fast.
5. The steam generator is equipped with a mechanical pressure control device, and the steam output pressure is stable. Equipped with built-in and external double valves, double protection.
6. The oil-free vacuum pump does not require any working medium and does not produce pollution.
7. The constant temperature magnetic stirrer can be adjusted, and the stirring speed can be adjusted.

Precision and Bias:
1.Precision-The precision of the test method, as based on mass percent and as obtained by statistical examination of interlaboratory test results in the range 0% to 0.4%.
2.Repeatability-The difference between successive test results, obtained by the same operator with the same apparatus under constant operating conditions on identical test material, would, in the long run, in the normal and correct operation of the test method, exceed the following value in only one case in twenty:

S = average result, as a percentage by mass, of the values being compared.

Calculation:
Calculate the sediment content of the sample as a percentage by mass of the original sample.

S = sediment content of the sample as a percentage by mass,
m1 = mass, of the thimble, g,
m2 = mass, of the thimble plus test portion, g, and
m3 = mass of the thimble plus sediment, g.
